On 11-15 October 2021 a Competency Assessor Training was held regarding the establishment of the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Professional Certification Institute (LSP UPI) at the Travello Hotel Bandung. This event has implemented a fairly strict health protocol. LSP UPI is the institution responsible for organizing the event. The UPI Professional Certification Institute is a licensed professional certification body from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) which was established by UPI to carry out competency-based professional certification activities specifically for UPI graduates. BNSP is an independent agency established by the government.

This activity was attended by 4 lecturers of the Computer Science Education study program and the Computer Science study program, namely

1. Dr. Rani Megasari, S. Kom., M.T. – Database Administrator Field
2. Dr. Rasim, M.T. - Graphic Design Field
3. Yudi Ahmad Hambali, M.T. – Network Administrator Field
4. Erlangga, M.T. – Senior Programmer Field

The Graphic Design and Senior Programmer fields are certification programs in the Computer Science Education Study Program, while the Database Administrator and Network Administrator fields are certification programs in the Computer Science Study Program. The activities from the first day to the fourth day are training for prospective assessors. The activity on the fifth day was a competency assessor certification exam, so several students of the Computer Science Education Study Program and the Computer Science Study Program were invited to observe activities as assessors, and as a result, the four lecturers from the Computer Science and Computer Science Education Study Program were recommended as competency assessors.

Students who later take this certification will get an official BNSP certificate. Competency certification is necessary for the industry to know the specific competencies of graduates and for students it will be proof of a valid portfolio. As for the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, certification is one of the Main Performance Index (IKU) that must be achieved as well as the study program must also meet the IKU target.

The general requirements for students who can take part in the certification are as follows.

1. Students of the Computer Science and Computer Science Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia,
2. Have completed learning up to seventh semester (7th) and have completed courses that are required for certification,
3. Have done Academic Training Practice (PLA)/ Field Work Practice/Internship,
