International Conference ICSITech in Malacca, Malaysia

On 29th October to 1st November 2018, several representative lecturers from the Computer Science Education Department participated in International Conference (ICSITech) in Malacca, Malaysia. ICSITech is the fourth activity organized as a result of join organized between UTeM, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Universitas Mulawarman, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Putra Malaysia University, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universitas Budi Luhur, Politeknik Negeri Padang, Universitas Negeri Malang, Malikussaleh University, Telkom University, ASCEE, and ITSA Colombia. The theme that was raised at the fourth ICSITech seminar was“Embracing Industry 4.0: Towards Innovation in Cyber Physical System”. Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Mohd. Jailani Mohn Nor from Albukhary International University Malaysia who is one of the keynote speakers revealed, there are 5 (five) main elements in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, namely Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Connectivity, Digitalization of Data, and Mindset 4.0. In this case, universities have an important role to form the mindset of 4.0. Another keynote speaker, Prof. Seok-Won Lee conveyed how to build a system tailored to the needs of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

The third ICSITech was held in 2017 in Bandung, with UPI as the host. In addition to participating in ICSITech activities, some of the lecturers from the Computer Science Education Department had a meeting with Prof. Nanna Suherman, Director of the International Office, UTeM. The matters which were discussed at the meeting were about opportunities to collaborate in student exchange programs, as well as S2 and S3 scholarships for students of the Computer Science Education Department at UTeM.

The same thing was discussed with Prof. Gunawan Wijaksono from Petronas University of Technology, about the opportunity to collaborate in the field of research particularly, as well as several S2 and S3 scholarship programs for students in the Computer Science Education Department.
