On September 10th 2020, the Big Data Laboratory, which is one of the laboratories in the Computer Science Education Department, was holding a webinar with the title “Introduction to Bioinformatics”. In this online seminar, Mr. Efendi Zaenudin, Ph.D., a researcher from Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), was the resource person. This webinar was attended by more than 100 participants from various backgrounds (lecturers, students, practitioners, etc.). Bioinformatics, which is a combination of two great scientists, namely biology and informatics / computer science, has become a trend today. Various problems in the field of biology can be solved efficiently and effectively with the help of existing tools in Computer Science / Informatics. By holding this webinar, participants will find out some research topics related to Bioinformatics, and also to share some knowledge and insights on this field.
