The 2023 Certified Secure Computer User (CSCU) FPMIPA UPI

The Computer Science Education Department in collaboration with the EC-Council once again held a free Certified Secure Computer User (CSCU) certification for all students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (FPMIPA UPI).

The CSCU training program aims to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to protect their information assets. This training will immerse students in an interactive environment where they will gain a fundamental understanding of various computer and network security threats such as identity theft, credit card fraud, online banking phishing scams, viruses and back doors, fake emails, and sexually lurking sex offenders. online, loss of confidential information, hacking attacks, and social engineering. More importantly, the skills learned from the classroom help students take the necessary steps to reduce their safety exposure. (https://www.htp.co.id/kursus/netsec/eccl/cscu/).

This program was carried out online for 3 days, from 11 January 2023 to 13 January 2023. This year CSCU invited five presenters, namely lecturers at FPMIPA who are experts in the field of Secure Computer and attended by undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students within FPMIPA UPI.

On the first day, Wednesday 11 January 2023 there was registration and distribution of CSCU vouchers for activity participants, followed by “Introduction to Data Security” and “Securing OS” by Erna Piantari, M.T. lecturer in the Computer Science Education Department. Next, there was a presentation from Erlangga, M.T. lecturer at the Computer Science Education Department regarding “Malware and Anti Virus” and “Internet Security” and ended with presenters by Tri Suwandi, M.Sc. lecturer of the Department of Biology Education on “Security Social Networking” and “Securing Email”.

On the second day, Thursday 12 January 2023, there were two lectures by lecturers from the Computer Science Education Department, namely Yudi Ahmad Hambali, S.T., M.T. which discussed “Securing Mobile Device” and “Securing Cloud”, followed by Eddy Prasetyo N, M.T. discusses “Securing Network Connection” and “Data Backup and Recovery”.

The third day as well as the last day of CSCU activities, Friday 13 January 2023 was filled with certification exams for CSCU EC-Council 2023 participants which were carried out offline at the UPI FPMIPA Auditorium and online using zoom meeting. The exam was held from 08.30 WIB to 16.00 WIB and divided into 2 sessions. The first session was held from 08.30 WIB to 11.00 WIB and the second session was held from 13.30 WIB to 16.00 WIB. This certification exam activity was led by Erna Piantari, S.T. assisted by the event committee.

This training activity is the contribution of lecturers, especially lecturers from the Computer Science Education Department to the computer security competence of FPMIPA UPI students. In addition, students who take part in this training have the opportunity to have international certifications that can help students in the future.
