Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia held a Professor Inauguration on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Achmad Sanusi Building, UPI Bumi Siliwangi Campus. The event was attended by the Rector of UPI, Prof. Dr. H. M. Solehuddin, M.Pd., M.A. and his staff, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Idrus Affandi, S.H. Chair of the UPI Academic Senate, Prof. Dr. Didi Suryadi, M.Ed. and his staff, Chair of the UPI Professor Council and his staff, inaugurated lecturers, and a number of invited guests.

In the 2023 Professor Inauguration event, there were 10 professors from various faculties. One of the professors from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (FPMIPA) is Prof. Lala Septem Riza, M.T., Ph.D. He is a Professor in the field of Data Science and Big Data Analysis.

The Professor Inauguration Ceremony was officially opened by the Rector of UPI, by congratulating the Professors who were obtained. “Hopefully, the Professors can play a greater role in building the University of Education Indonesia that we all love”. Said the Rector of UPI. After that, each of the ten professors delivered their scientific speeches.

After the Professors gave their scientific speeches, followed by the procession of the Professors’ sign by the UPI Rector. The UPI Professors Council also gave appreciation to all Professors who had been inaugurated.

The Professor Inauguration activities were continued with events in their respective Faculties. The Professors from FPMIPA were carried by the students from Achmad Sanusi Building to JICA FPMIPA building.  Furthermore, the Professors of FPMIPA, one of which is Prof. Lala Septem Riza, M.T., Ph.D was welcomed with a series of traditional dances by the FPMIPA dance team.

Prof. Lala Septem Riza, M.T., Ph.D who is also the Head of the Computer Science Education Study Program FPMIPA UPI was congratulated by the lecturers for the Professor position obtained. “We, the big family of Computer Science and Computer Science Education, congratulate Prof. Lala Septem Riza, M.T., Ph.D who has been confirmed as a professor in the field of Data Science and Big Data Analysis,” said the Head of the Computer Science Study Program, Dr. Muhammad Nursalman. Secretary of Computer Science Education Study Program FPMIPA UPI, Mr. Dr. Wahyudin, M.T. also expressed his gratitude and hope. “Hopefully (he) will continue to incrase his knowledge and benefit the Computer Science Education and Computer Science study programs”.
