Kemakom Goes To School 2021

On August 7 and 8, 2021, the Education and Training Division of BEM Kemakom organized an event named Kemakom Goes To School (KGTS). This event was held for Vocational High School’s students, in the form of a workshop about the Information Technology field and also introducing them to the Department of Computer Science Education. The theme of the workshop, “Building Digital World Security”, was presented to students about cyber security in the industrial field.

This workshop was attended by 100 students from various Vocational Schools in Indonesia. Held through the Zoom Meeting and live on the YouTube channel of BEM Kemakom.

This year’s KGTS invited a great speaker, is  M. Arif Fadhly Ridha, S.Kom., M.T., CCNA, MTCNA, MTCRE, MTCIPv6E, MTCWE, MTCSE, CEH, CHFI, ECIH, S-ISF, S-ITSF, S-ITSP, S-EHF, S-EHP, JNCIA as a lecturer from Politeknik Caltex Riau. On the first day of this workshop, Arif explained the basic concept of cyber security and continued on the next day with a topic about career opportunities as a cyber security engineer. After the theory session, this event continued with a question and answer session that had great enthusiasm from the participants.

Hopefully, this event can give new insight to the students about cyber security, they can also prepare themselves for the skills needed to enter the professional field.
