The first dose of vaccination for lecturers and education staff at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia has been carried out. This is in line with the efforts of the Bandung City government to accelerate vaccinations for teachers and education staff to ensure the implementation of Face-to-Face Learning runs safely.
The vaccinations, which were held from Monday, April 5, 2021 to Wednesday, April 7, 2021, were held at the UPI Gymnasium building on the Bumi Siliwangi campus. This vaccination is the first dose that is injected from two doses for lecturers and education staff at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The process is quite easy, but several things need to be prepared before vaccination, e.g the body must be in a fit condition and do not have a history of certain diseases that are not allowed to be vaccinated.
“My experience when I was getting my first dose vaccine is to make sure your body condition must be fit. Keep your body from getting sick by getting enough exercise (don’t overdo it), getting enough rest and not staying up too late, eat and drink nutritious plus multivitamins, and try to maintain health protocols. Because there are many cases, after being vaccinated, they have a fever and are positive for COVID 19, it was not because of the vaccine but because the person has been infected by the COVID 19 virus before. “Said Erlangga, M.T., a lecturer at the University of Pendidikan Indonesia who had undergone the first dose of vaccination.
After coming to the UPI Gymnasium, lecturers and education staff can immediately line up to get their turn for vaccinations. When it is their turn, a quick examination of your health conditions, such as blood pressure and blood sugar levels, will be conducted. Then the vaccination is carried out.
“When I was vaccinated during the initial examination, my blood pressure and blood sugar were still normal, my blood pressure was 120 / 80mmHg and my blood sugar after eating was 96 below the 140 limits, so the vaccine process ran smoothly.” said Erlangga, M.T.
Hopefully, with the vaccination, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia would be ready to resume lecture activities regularly and safely.
